Cricut Cartridges Home Décor Secrets

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Kitchen Design Ideas

Have you ever wished that you could spruce up your home décor, but you didn’t know how to get started? Have you wanted to add personal touches to your décor so that your personal style shows through the design? The answer may be far simpler than you could have imagined.

Using your Cricut system to help you with your décor may not have been your first instinct; after all, the Cricut system is die cut making for scrapbooking and paper crafts, right? What if you could use your Cricut for more than paper crafts, though? What if you could use your Cricut machine to jumpstart a home décor that is personal, sophisticated, and beautiful? With Cricut cartridges, home décor can be transformed beautifully and simply.

Cricut Cartridges Home Décor Ideas- Kids’ Rooms

Have your children expressed the desire to decorate their room? It’s tough to make that call, because you want them to be able to express themselves with their décor, but you don’t want to have to start over each time they change their minds about what kind of room they want to have. Well, with Cricut Cartridges, Home Décor is much simpler.

Did you know that you can actually use your Cricut machine to cut images onto window cling material? Let your child choose the Cricut cartridge that they want, and dial up the size so that it will be proportionate to the design. Let the Cricut cut the images your child wants to have onto the window cling material. Have their room painted a muted, neutral color and use the window clings to spice up their design.

The added bonus is that your child can change up her design anytime she wants by rearranging the clings around her room. If she decides that, after awhile, the design isn’t right for her, you can show her the Cricut Cartridges again and let her choose away!

3 Cricut Cartridges Home Décor Ideas- Throughout the House

Have you walked into a home that displays inspirational words and phrases above doorways, on stairs, or on placards throughout their home? It seems that those homes offer a cozy, personal feel. Let Cricut help you to create that same ambiance in your home.

Look through your Cricut Cartridges and find a font that will complement your design choice. Warning: Choosing just one font may prove very difficult, as there are so many beautiful fonts to choose from! Adjust the size on the dial to match the size of the words you want to have. Now, you have several choice options:

1. You can choose to let your Cricut die cuts serve as stencils. You can even turn this into a fun family experience by allowing the whole family to help stencil the inspirational words.

2. You can choose to use the window clings to create the words and phrases. This way, you can change them out as often as you want to, creating a conversation piece for guests.

3. You can use fabric such as felt or velvet for the letters, creating a warmer, cozier feeling with the words.

4. You can choose to stencil the words or phrases onto a painted surface, such as the backs of chairs, a wood placard, or the kitchen table. This creates a relaxed, “home-y” feel to your décor.

any product design ideas?

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Kitchen Design Ideas

Hi I would like you to share some ideas on products that are worth designing, as i would like to get some user thoughts. It can be any manufactured product (furniture, toys, kitchen tools etc etc) but I would prefer minimum electronic component and something more realistic and non-sexual ideas.
Or maybe to change an existing product shape or improve on it in physical terms, not the programming of it.

p.s. I’ve posted this msg in several area, so if u had already given your opinion then no need to do it again.

A few things come to mind. I lived in Italy for years and they have such great and innovative products. I would like to see far more items that have dual or multi level uses, for example;
Murphy beds that with a click of a button turn around and become a shelving unit with glass doors in the centre.
Tables that can be turned into coffee tables or ottomans.
In this day and age we need more space innovated designs.
Places are getting smaller and the need for multi tasking with less clutter is vital.
Bathroom cabinets are horrendous as well, they are ugly and not very functional. We woman need more nooks and crannies to tuck are necessities into but we want the beauty of the product as well!

Architecture?

What do you think about this?

It’s not completed yet, but the overall design structure is a 3-story condo. The 1st floor is only featured, I’m currently working on the other remaining.

By the way, I have created the furnitures, lamps, tables, etc. by scratch. My DC Online isn’t working and I dislike the 3d blocks they feature. Sorry for the excessive use of mirroring material, I just love how it looks!

1st floor: kitchen, dining/breakfast nook, living room, powder and utility room behind the stairs (the shadow gets in the way, but I’ll fix the lighting when complete with project).

2nd floor: Master bed/bath, and gym.

3rd floor: Library and study (a very nice approch I think because it will be overlooking the outside and the digest of natural light).

looks nice… i can’t really comment… because i don’t know a whole lot about architecture YET… but i am going to be an architecture student this fall…

i’m more concerned about what a building looks like from the outside than inside…. but i do care about like huge lobbies and stuff… as you can see i really prefer commercial rather than residential…

i like windows the more the bigger the better… but i dont see them in your library so you might want to add some…

by the way heres a question for you… which school do you think has a better quality architecture program? california college of the arts or wentworth institute of technology?

What should I do after I graduate high school?

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Kitchen Design Software

I have a few ideas on what I should do after I graduate. So far the things I came up with are :

-Designing/creating computer games (Sims 3, etc.)
-Cooking
-Directing movies and films

I love working with computers, working with video cameras, messing with editing softwares, and cooking at home in the kitchen, but I’m not sure what to do.

I know it’s my choice, but I just want some opinions :P
Yeah I want to go to collage for at least 3 or 4 years :]

Go to college after you graduate (at least a 2-year community college) and get a degree, in whatever you choose to major in. No one else can tell you what would be the best option for you. We don’t know how good you cook or how well you direct either. We really can’t even give you an opinion not knowing that.

With that being said, my sister was a film major in college. She wanted to write and direct. She hasn’t had any luck getting into the film/movie world yet. It’s a difficult thing to get into, really. She’s written a couple of shorts and even filmed a few of them and submitted them to film festivals, but no luck yet.

I think at one time I could see spirits…?

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Kitchen Cabinets Design

Last year, I used to see a few weird things every once in a while:

1. When I was washing dishes in the kitchen, a person (I think it might have been a male, since it had slightly broad shoulders) was standing by the fridge peeking into the kitchen wearing a black hooded cloak and I couldn’t see its face. We have an archway in front of the fridge (used as decoration and a wine rack) and between the archway and the fridge is a walkway which we use to get into the kitchen. Behind the archway is what used to be a hallway but we tore down the wall and made that archway in its place which makes it a more open space (this archway is really wide) so I could see it from any direction. The "person" was standing in between the hallway, the fridge, and the walkway and peeking into the kitchen either like it was shy or spying. I couldn’t see its face, but I was startled by its appearance, not exactly by the "person". It was just that I didn’t know it was there, y’know? When I turned completely around to face it, it wasn’t there.

2. I was going across the street to get some green tea (I think) from the corner market. Through the corner of my eye, I spotted what looked like a woman dressed in very earthy clothes, with a long, indian-style skirt and shirt set. The skirt was brown and then it faded into a goldenrod color. It had gold stitches in the brown part making some kind of design but I’m not sure what it was. Her shirt was brown, but that’s all I know about it. And I think she was wearing gold hoop earrings. Her hair was pulled into something like a french braid. It was a reddish chestnut color, and the braid was thick so I’m guessing she had a lot of hair. I know it was really long. I couldn’t see her face either (I imagined her having a face since…welll…That’s the normal case for any person…but I don’t think a face was actually there). She reminded me of an earth nymph (well that’s just the thought that came to mind, since I’ve never actually seen a nymph). When I turned around, no one was there. It was on a sunday, so there was absolutely NOBODY outside. Not even a car drove by. Everyone was either inside their houses or at church.

3. Finally, I was depressed for a week since I thought an online friend of mine committed suicide (it turned out he didn’t). During the time I was depressed, I’d wash the dishes at midnight after having spent the entire day on the computer. When I was washing the dishes, I noticed a shadow behind me. I thought it was my younger brother, so I turned around but no one was there. Sometimes I could just sense someone behind me but no one was there. This continued for a few days, and ONLY after midnight. No one seemed present before 12 AM. So one day I felt someone poke my sides (I get really ticklish that way) and I thought it was my brother again, but it wasn’t, he was upstairs on his computer (once that boy gets on the computer, he zones out so I KNOW it’s not him). It happened a few times. Sometimes the "poke" would be at one side, then the other, then both like someone was trying to make me laugh.

Then, at some point, I thought those things were just stupid hallucinations and that I’m paranoid. Actually, I’ve been "paranoid" since I was a little younger than ten years old. I used to lock the bathroom when I used it, check the tub, the closet, and sometimes the drawers, leave the shower curtain open, check my room closets, check behind my mom’s bookshelves, etc. etc. because I always had the feeling that someone was there (even when I locked the doors I thought someone was there).
At some point last year (I was fifteen) I got tired of it and complained about it in my head. No one knew about my "sightings" except my mom, who is a rather spiritual person, but I don’t like talking to her about spirits for various reasons. But after the third sighting (which was when I got tired of spirits) I didn’t see anymore. Thinking about it now, since I understand it a little better, I feel like I don’t mind seeing spirts, though it would take some getting used to. But maybe I was just being paranoid?
Now that I think about it, during those sightings, I didn’t have any friends outside of the internet (I still don’t have any…). Thinking back on it, I kind of get into the habit of thinking those spirits were there to accompany me and I didn’t know it. Even if they weren’t, I appreciate their company now more than I didn back then (hey, it was new to me, what was I supposed to think?).
Does anyone think that I saw genuine spirits?
Does anyone think I’m just insane? (well I guess according to psychology, I can’t be insane since I question my own sanity, but…)
Sorry for writing such an annoyingly long question, but I wanted to make sure the facts and details were there, so maybe it could help.
Also, (It’s unrelated but maybe you can help me figure this out) I get prediction-like dreams. Sometimes they COMPLETELY come true, event after event. So last month I got a strange dream. I just know it was weird, that’s the feeling I had while I was dreaming, but I remember none of it EXCEPT at the end I saw a laptop and white words that said, "With a nod of the head, watch your back." I noticed that lately I’ve been more alert to people around me (not spirits, eheh…) and I feel more catlike, more jumpy and alert. My hearing has gotten sharp when I’m paying attention and I can usually tell when someone is behind me, even if they’re not making a sound. Has anyone got any idea about what’s going on with me?
It’s not like I think I’m some kind of psychic or super hero with some sixth sense powers, I don’t even think seeing spirits in that big of a deal. I just wanted to know if I AM seeing spirits. And I’m getting the feeling that I might like to see a (harmless) one again. Maybe make acquaintences with him/her/it.

Ricky- I don’t think spirits are pixies…I’m pretty sure they’d be there even if I didn’t believe in them.

You don’t have a "gift", you’re just much, much more attentive than the average person. Spirits ARE real and they are everywhere. I know that feeling you described when you said you feel like there are people standing right there, watching you…I’ve had my own share of paranormal encounters myself, but I haven’t ever seen a spirit.

Some of those dreams might be visions of the future. I had a dream once where I saw the same thing happen at least 15 times. It was just these two black triangles gliding through the air and then they sort of split apart into six smaller pieces and they stayed there in the sky until night, and when it got dark they were glowing orange.

So, yes you are insane by society’s standards, but our society’s rules are BS in my opinion.

Living Room design… dark colors in furniture or rug?

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Small Kitchen Design

I have just gotten a new apartment and am trying to decide options for my living area. It is fairly small and open to the kitchen. I will have black and white photos and more contemporary art on my walls. I want to get a shag rug and a new couch and chairs. Is it better to bring color into the room through the rug or have a black rug and brighter tones in the furniture to make the room look as open as possible.

I would bring in dark and bold colors through the accessories and rug. I always find it better to buy couches and more expensive items in more neutral colors that I can use even if I want to change the color of the room, etc.
Good Luck and Have fun wiht it.

will tile and hardwood floors go together in an open floor plan?

icoPosted by: admin  :  Category: Kitchen Floor Plan

Kitchen is open to living area. Kitchen has tile already and living room has carpet. We want replace carpet wit hardwood if it look right, or should we just tile it all. Entry way from frony door is tile then living room begins with carpet then kitchen begins with tile.

The tile must end at some normal spot as a cut off point. If the carpet and tile had flowed from one to the other, then wood will flow just as well..
The same would work for continuing tile since you ll have a different tile or a shade match problem it your able to get the exact same tile flowing from one to another..
