I think you should be able to work with that budget as long as you don’t buy the most expensive materials out there. Call some contractors out and get at least 3 estimates. Get references and call them to verify the quality of workmanship.

The game gets very choppy and strange flashes of black flash across my screen when when I am anywhere but the main screen. Its worse in build and buy mode, but also happens in live mode to.

I exceed all the system requirements (1.80GHz processor, 3.00 GB RAM, XP, 223 GM of FREE hard drive space, and a GeForce 7800)

ALL MY SOFTWARE, and Sims 2 + Expansions HAVE BEEN UPDATED (I have Sim 2 Double Deluxe, Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff, Free Time, University, & Pets)

I have not downloaded any extra content for the game anywhere, or used any cheat codes on the game.

I turned off all unnecessary programs running in the background before opening it (only 3% CPU Usage and less than 10% Physical Memory running)

I tried turning the game graphics all on the lowest settings or off, set the game on a lower resolution, and I restarted my computer.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (all of the expansions, and then with none of the of the expansions)

The house has three bedrooms, one bath, living room and combination dining and kitchen area. The house was built in the 70’s and still has the look. It is very plain, no design details and nothing that can be used as a focal point.

Ranch house… My paretn slive in a ranch house an dhave it done very cute adn rustic. My mom bought 2 half whiskey barrel planters from the garden section of Wal-Mart. She turned them over (open side down) and made round cushions and attached the cushions to the now "top" side and made ottomens out of them. They are sooooooooo cute and get maaaaaaaaaaaany compliments. also, if you need a new backsplash in the kitchen, she got metal flashing from the local lumber company and used it as a backsplash. You can use upohlstry (sp?) tacks to secure it in place. If you live on a ranch, take some black and white photos of the place and frame them in a barnwood frame to decorate. Use rusty colors…..

We are currently choosing a kitchen to be installed in our 80’s semi. Our initial idea was to have an oak laminate floor put on the entire ground floor (lounge/hall/kitchen/dining area) to create unity between all the rooms and keep dusty down etc. Glass doors to nable light to travel through (dark house). Now we are attempting to choose a kiting suite and ae stuck !
Would wooden faced doors look odd aginst a wooden floor? concernerned it way look to woody – like a sauna? Merge / clash?
Should we go for painted wood type or plain doors to complement /contrast with the flooring?
Or shoudl we not laminate the entire downstairs and have traditional black / cream tiles on kitchen floor to enable wood units to be fitted? Thus breaking up the "untiy / flow" of having the whole floor the same?
We are trying to consider resale potential of the house (in the future) and trying to make it as light and large feeling as possible along with us having to like it obviously. Many Thanks

i would considre going with the wood look it should blend in well with the existing decor. then i would paint all the trim white to give it a good clean look and brighting up the the area

My girlfriend is a joiner (yeah, I know it’s unusual for a woman but there ya go) and I’m trying to help her get the right professional drawing program to plan and design her work (the format being Mac OS X). We’re talking plans for peoples homes, like shelves, wardrobes and kitchens. The most important feature will of course be that it can make 3D drawings which measure and calculate in millimeters. It’ll also be good if the plans can be made to look attractive and reasonably realistic, so that clients will be pleased when she shows them a print-out.

Price is also a factor, so if there’s a really good and appropriate open source program we’d be happy. However, we’d consider it worth spending perhaps a couple of hundred pounds to get the best software.

Any recommendations?
