kitchen renovation
Do you have any great space saving ideas? What are the best finishes?
Space saving ideas will depend on the size of your kitchen, the extent of your renovation project, and your budget.
Best finishes are easier to approach here with so little information about your project to go on:
Floors: Ceramic tile or cushioned vinyl sheet flooring. Avoid hardwood as spills will get between the planks and could present themselves as awful smelling reminders in the future. Also wood is less resistant to water damage and the routine wear patterns that form in the work triangle.
Counters: Granite if it’s in the budget. Depending on your style, stainless might work. The new plastic laminates are a lot more appealing than those from even 10 years ago.
Cabinetry: Wood. Melamine is not very durable, lacquer paint finishes are quite expensive and often a bit more delicate to maintain a clean appearance.
Back-splash behind sink & oven: ceramic tile, stainless steel, or even glass.
Walls: use 100% acrylic paint. It is resistant to the heat, steam, smells and high traffic of a kitchen and is almost odourless when applied.
For kitchen renovation projects you really can benefit immeasurably by calling in a professional interior designer at least for one consultation — you will be provided with information geared specifically for your kitchen’s size, shape, style and budget.

kitchen renovation
I remember seeing something on the DIY network months ago for remodeling a kitchen.
I am looking at having my counter tops re-done and I want Granite, but I recall seeing some other material used that was just as good and I remember it looking very nice too.
Was it concrete counter tops? What else is available on the market that is durable and can handle hot pans on it without worrying about cracking?
It’s called Trend Stone.

Bathroom Design Ideas
I have a small bathroom and toilet which I would like to decorate myself but have absolutely no design ideas. I am looking for some simple, attractive designs but everything on the web seems to be too plush and costly. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can view photos of simple bathroom designs? I am looking mainly for ideas for decoration rather than replacement bathroom furniture. Alternatively, are there any people out there with good design skills who would be willing to offer me some design suggestions?
Check out ratemyspace.hgtv.com for some great ideas for small bathrooms.
Here are a couple small bathrooms that I thought were great.

Check places like Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens and Things, Pottery Barn Outlet for your accessories. Bed Bath and Beyond has 20% off coupons quite often and wait for Target to have a sale. Good luck and have fun with it!

Kitchen Remodel Ideas
I am doing a research paper on California Pizza Kitchen. I am looking for others who LOVE it as I do. Please tell me what you like about CPK. Please be as detailed as you can and if you like anything in particular (food, atmosphere, service). I would like to quote you if is ok with you, so please give me your first name and last initial and where you live, city and state. If you don’t want to give that info, just make up something, I’ll never know the difference. Thank you for your help.
I love their BLT pizzas – a different taste from most pizza, no tomato sauce. The service is always friendly. They are convenient – in my mall.

kitchen renovation
A kitchen renovation can be a very exciting project that completely changes the overall look of your house. Before you get started, there are a few things that you will need to do first. Here are 8 things to do before starting your kitchen renovation.
1. Set a Budget
One of the most important steps in this process is setting a budget. A kitchen renovation can become very expensive if you do not set a budget and stick with it. If you absolutely need to, you can alter the budget later. However, by setting an initial budget, you will be able to keep yourself from spending too much money on the project.
2. Set a Time Frame
Undergoing a kitchen renovation will usually prevent you from being able to use the kitchen. Therefore, you need to determine a time frame for how long you think this project is going to take. You will have to make alternative arrangements for dinner and plan on living around a mess for a while.
3. Look at Kitchen Designs
You will need to spend some time looking at kitchen designs in order to choose the best one for your kitchen. There are many different possible ways that you could lay out your kitchen. Just because your kitchen is currently in a certain format does not necessarily mean that you will have to go back with the same format. Look at several kitchen designs and spend some time thinking about which one would best serve your needs.
4. Choose a Design
Once you have looked at several kitchen designs, you will need to make a decision on one of them. Consult your spouse or anyone else that will play a role in making the decision. Narrow down your choices to 3 to 5 kitchen designs and then choose one out of that group.
5. Shop Around
After choosing a kitchen design, you will need to start shopping around for the kitchen renovation. Many times, by spending some extra time shopping at different stores, you can find great deals on the materials that you need.
6. Check Building Codes
Before undergoing any major kitchen renovation, you need to check with your local building codes to make sure that you are doing things by the book. The last thing that you want to do is go through renovation and then find out that your work was not up to code. This can be very costly and time-consuming.
7. Emotional Preparation
Before you go through a project as large as a kitchen renovation, you need to make sure that everyone is prepared emotionally. You need to sit down and discuss the project with the entire family. Typically, going through a kitchen renovation is going to cause a large mess in the kitchen as well as in the surrounding areas. Therefore, everyone in the family needs to be prepared for dealing with the process.
8. Find a Designer
You should also spend some time locating a quality kitchen designer. A good designer can take a lot of the pressure off of you and help you come up with a customized design for your kitchen.
