icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: Kitchen Remodel Ideas

hello guyz,
Im a regular viewer of HELLS KITCHEN reality show , and do occasional betting on it. To get betting info on such shows I use www.popbet.com
Any of you know any other reality show betting website?

Hi there,

I am also a regular viewer of Hell’s Kitchen. I don’t know if you mean real betting (as in real money changing hands), but I found a website where you pick your contestants and you earn points for every week they stay in the running including bonus points if they win. It’s sort of betting but no money is involved. If you’re interested, the website is www.foxreality.com.

Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Bathroom Ideas?!?

icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: Bathroom Design Ideas

Has anyone got any website suggestions to inspire me design a new bathroom? We have finally decided on a suite. Its a small bathroom so need to make sure we get the right tiles (so it doesnt make the room look smaller etc) and taps etc. Its a mine field when you actually start looking! In an ideal world it would be great to find a website where you could put tiles on a wall next to floor tiles…does this even exist?

There is a show on HGTV called "Save My Bath" that does beautiful things with bathrooms. If you get the channel, definitely tune in to watch the process. Otherwise, there are before & after photos on the website:

http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/episode_archive/0,1783,HGTV_27456_638,00.html

Just click on an episode link, then click the link under "in this episode" to see the photos.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure they say to get larger tiles to make the room appear larger.

Good luck.

The Kitchen Debate (Nixon and Khrushchev, 1959) Part II of II

icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: Kitchen Remodel Ideas

This is Part II. Ampex fans will enjoy hearing, at 1:52 “This program is now being recored on Ampex Color tape, and it can be played back immediately and you can’t tell that it isn’t a live program…”

The Kitchen Debate was a series of impromptu exchanges (through interpreters) between then U.S. Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev at the opening of the American National Exhibition at Sokolniki Park in Moscow on July 24, 1959. For the exhibition, an entire house was built that the American exhibitors claimed anyone in America could afford. It was filled with labor saving and recreational devices meant to represent the fruits of the capitalist American consumer market. It was the first high-level meeting between Soviet and U.S. leaders since the Geneva Summit in 1955. It took place in a number of locations at the exhibition but primarily in the kitchen of a suburban model house, cut in half so it could be viewed easily.

The two men discussed the merits of each of their respective economic systems, capitalism and communism. It was recorded on Ampex color videotape, a new technology pioneered in the U.S by the Ampex company.; during the debate Nixon pointed this out as one of the many American technological advances.

Both men argued for their countrys industrial accomplishments, with Khrushchev stressing the Soviets focus on things that matter rather than luxury. He satirically asked if there was a machine that “puts food into the mouth and pushes it down”. Nixon responded by saying at least the competition was technological, rather than military. In the end, both men agreed that the United States and the Soviet Union should be more open with each other. However, Khrushchev was skeptical of Nixon’s promise that his part in the debate would be translated into English and broadcast in the U.S.

Ampex Data Systems Corporation is still on the forefront of technology development. More information can be found at www.ampex.com

Kitchen Renovation Project: Day Four Ikea Delivery

icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: kitchen renovation

http://www.andrewseltz.com

My New York City apartment is getting a badly needed kitchen renovation. I’ve torn out the old cabinets and appliances and will be replacing them with cabinets, counters, refrigerator and a sink from Ikea along with a new stove, microwave range hood, and a dishwasher from Sears.

This wave of the project is focused on the basics and the electrical work. Later I want to dress things up with a tile backsplash, a new floor, and some under-cabinet task lighting.

Day four was focused on getting the electrical work done, but we also had a delivery scheduled. Ikea delivered the cabinets and sink today. It’s very important to do a complete inventory when you get your order to ensure that you have all of the parts and don’t find yourself in the middle of an installation and missing something important.

I also went to the building supply company and ordered the materials for closing up the walls. It gets delivered tomorrow. In this order, I picked up the parts for connecting and testing the ice maker water supply line – it works perfectly!!!

I need a design to making a bathroom wall not get scratch by the user using crutches?

icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: Bathroom Design Ideas

my dad has a narrow walk way in his bathroom. He also is cripple, and he uses crutches 24/7. We have recently remodeled his bathroom with all new stainless steal appliances and knobs. and about elbow height on the walls there is scratches on the freshly painted walls. I need a stylish way to stop these from appearing again. I have given plexus glass a thought, but it looks vary tacky. PLEASE! any body have any ideas?

Try wainscotting or tile…. Or paint with a darker, semi-gloss easy clean finish.

I would convert the space into a "wetroom"….. Tile in a neutral tile on the floor walls etc.

How Do You Know If You Have a P Trap if It is not Visible

icoPosted by: Edit Kasza  :  Category: Kitchen Remodel Ideas

http://www.homeinspectioncarolina.com During a recent home inspection in Waxhaw NC Charlotte inspector found a drain on a tub that had been added where the p trap was not visible. The problem on the home inspection is that there is no p trap visible. You could find it without tearing up the floors. The builder says it was there but this was not good enough for the buyer. What is the best option? Charlotte Inspector Preston Sandlin brought a see snake which is a flexible light camera extension that puts what is seeing on an LCD Screen. He put that dow the drain and ran it about 3 feet and sure enough he saw water which indicates that a p trap is present. Why is a p trap important? The P Trap was developed as part of the drainage system for the plumbing in your home or business. The P trap will also stop sewer odors from coming back up the drain and into your bathroom. This trap has been used all of the world for many years and will continue to be.

The p-trap is found in the bathroom, the kitchen, the basement, the bar and many other places in your home. Many P-traps can also be found in many commercial places of business. P-Traps can be found in fast food places, supermarkets, schools, hospitals, zoos, office buildings, outdoor showers at the beach and pretty much every where you can find a fixture drain.

The P-trap can be found under most fixtures. Common places you will be able to see the p-trap are under both your kitchen and bathroom sink. If you have an laundry tub/sink you will be able to see the p-trap under that as well. Your shower and bathtub also use a p trap but you will or will not be able to see the actual trap. This will depend if you have a basement, crawl space or even live on a slab.

If your bathroom is built on a slap you will not be able to see your p trap because it will be inside of the slab, which is under the

bathtub or the shower pan. If you have a bathroom that is built on the first floor and you have a crawl space or a basement you will be able to see your p-trap if you go into one of those areas. The only problem you may run into is if your basement is finished, you may have to remove some Sheetrock from the basement ceiling before you can access the p-trap and the bathtub trip lever or shower pan drain. http://www.askthecharlotteinspector.com
