Small kitchen layout. We have a small home built in the late 60’s and have outgrown the kitchen. Some key elements of this design is the island/integrated bench allowing the dining table and island to consume less real estate. I also enjoy cooking, so I’m making the best out of a small space. Another big priority was to increase valuable prep surface. We’ve incorporated a cabinet depth refrigerator which will reduce overall refrigeration space, but to make up for the loss, I’ve introduced a second small refrigerator under the island exclusively for beverages, (which takes up a TON of space in our current refrigerator). We also don’t currently have a pantry and are using existing upper cabinetry for dry food storage, with the addition of the full height pantry all dry goods can be stored in one place. In the end of the island we’ve opted to install a slide out garbage cabinet in a location that allows food to be scraped directly into the garbage off the island (during prep), and can be accessed by the chef, as well as the kids. I wanted to design a kitchen that would allow an area that dinner can be prepared in (behind the island) still allowing a nice open area for kids to run around, essentially creating a “no fly zone”. When i’m cooking, nothing bothers me more than breaking stride by asking someone to move, or hand you something they’re blocking, or people getting in the way! I’ve also followed the “triangle” prep area rule allowing easy access to sink/prep area/stove in a triangle. One task that makes this entire design possible is removal of the long “center wall” that divides our current kitchen/living room. Not shown in this animation is the conversion of an existing (double window) next to the tall pantry cabinet into a sliding glass patio door! We can finally create a simple “flow” from the kitchen to the patio, and since the main wall is removed, into the living room. The kitchen and living room will benefit from the removal of the wall, increased natural light, and add the illusion of a larger space. We also added 3 skylights to the kitchen (not shown) and are going to be vaulting the ceiling.

Small sims house for either a single sim or a sim couple. One bedroom, one bath, fully furnished for $16,210. I know it’s not the best house out there but it’s something small and convenient for a new sim starting out. Only positive comments please. Any negative or rude comments will be deleted. I’m open to suggestions and requests. Just please note that this isn’t my best work since I’m new to the sims game. But I will make more videos with better houses. Thanks for watching!
